EMTL 1530 — Emergency Med Technician (EMT) II

Emergency Medical Technician II is the second component of a two-course offering designed for successful completion of an EMT course following the National EMS Educational Standard and Instructional Guidelines. To be eligible for this course, students must have successfully completed EMTL 1520 EMT I within the last year. This course will provide basic knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care and transportation as a component of a comprehensive EMS response team. This emergency medical course includes the following modules: Medical Emergencies, Special Patients/Populations, and Ambulance Operations as well as the FEMA Incident Command Systems courses NIMS 100 & 700 and HAZMAT. Successful completion of both EMTL 1520 (EMT I) and EMTL 1530 (EMT II) will allow a student to sit for the National Registry written and practical exams. Students may apply for state EMT Licensure upon receiving National Registry certification. Prerequisite: EMTL 1520 within one year.
