RESP1010 — Introduction to Respiratory Care
4.5 Credits This course provides information about the manufacture, transport, and storage of medical gases. Students are introduced to patient physical assessment, vital signs, and infection control techniques that will be utilized in patient care settings. Students are instructed in the application of the following therapy modalities: oxygen delivery devices, bland aerosol and humidity therapy, incentive spirometry, and aerosol delivery devices including SVN (Small Volume Nebulizer) DPI (Dry Powdered Inhaler), and MDI (Metered Dose Inhaler). 5
