HIMS2155 — Fundamentals of Pharmacology
4.5 Credits Students gain a basic understanding of pharmacological concepts, emphasizing routes of administration, basic pharmacokinetics, and the specific pharmacology of drugs commonly used in the healthcare field. Students become familiar with drug names, drug classifications, and drug schedules and categories. Other topics include but are not limited to drug actions and the rationale for treatment, side effects, and contraindications. Students review current healthcare topics relating to pharmacology and ethical issues. 5
