4.5 Credits Students explore literature from the 7th to the 18th centuries and study the ways in which Britain developed its literary identity over the course of this period. The literature written during this period brings to life the religious, social, and political climate of the time. By critically reading, discussing, and responding in writing to a variety of early British texts, students explore themes such as origins, faith, freedom, and identity. 5
