ELME1212 — Motor and Machine Controls

9.0 Credits This course introduces state-of-the-art motor control components and provides students with a basic knowledge of control circuitry. Students build on their experiences from basic electricity courses by designing, building, and troubleshooting more complex circuits. The designed circuits control live, three-phase, line voltage equipment. Students use devices such as contactors, motor-starters, relays, timers, mechanical, and proximity switches. They also learn about and utilize electronic motor controls and programmable devices such as variable frequency drives. 0

Prerequisites: MFGT1250, ELTR1200, ELAP1220
