CHEM2330 — Organic Chemistry II
7.5 Credits Organic Chemistry II is the second course in a two-course sequence. Topics in this course include spectroscopy (IR, NMR, MS, UV-Vis), the chemistry of oxygen and sulfur containing organic molecules [e.g., alcohols, thiols, ethers, sulfides, and epoxides], the chemistry of conjugated pi systems and aromatic compounds, the structure and chemistry of carbonyl compounds, aldehydes, and ketones, the structure, properties, and reactions of carboxylic acids and amines including reaction mechanisms, and condensation reactions that occur alpha to a carbonyl group. This course includes both lecture and lab components. 0
