6.0 Credits Students learn introductory knowledge and skills needed for entry-level work in the biotechnology industry and practice safety, good documentation practices, and following standard operating procedures. Students gain hands-on experience with common laboratory activities involving aseptic technique, biotechnology equipment, and solution preparation. Students also learn the basics of cleanroom operations and growing bacterial cultures. Note: Students must purchase a pair of ANSI Z.87 rated indirectly vented goggles and a Lab Coat for class.
