Examination of the various ethnic, racial, and other diverse groups (disability, sexual orientation, etc.) that make up the population of American society: Historical context of the experiences and treatment of various U.S. minority groups; government policies and laws and their impact on these various groups; and society’s response to physical and psychological/mental disabilities.
