NSG0086 — Obstetric Nursing
This course allows the student to perform care of the family in the labor and delivery areas, obstetrical operating room, mother and baby units, newborn nursery, and outpatient family health clinic settings. Students will: utilize human growth and development principles; nutritional guide - lines, knowledge of anatomy and physiol - ogy, and evidence practice guidelines to build, apply, and evaluate a plan of care; utilizing knowledge of pathophysiology, disorder medical/surgical/nursing man - agement, pharmacological/nonpharmaco - logical care, to: promote healthy lifestyles, rank and prioritize hypotheses, plan inter - ventions, perform interventions, and eval - uate the effectiveness of interventions.
