NSG0084 — Surgical Nursing
In this course, students will study the preoperative, intraoperative, and post - operative care of surgical patients. Topics include aseptic techniques, perioperative nursing interventions, wound healing, pain management, and patient educa - tion.Students will also apply principles of adult surgical nursing that focus on teaching and learning opportunities in the perioperative client with body imbalances and maintaining homeostasis. Principles dealing with the management of common surgical procedures, potential complica - tions, the nursing process, clinical judg - ment, and safety will be covered.
