Occupational Therapy Assistant

The Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program at Macomb prepares students to help people overcome physical and cognitive challenges under the direction of licensed Occupational Therapists. The ACOTE-accredited program combines lecture, lab, and clinical fieldwork to teach the occupational therapy process including assessment and intervention. Graduates are eligible to sit for the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) exam to become a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). The program is a selective admissions program within Health and Human Services.
