PTA117 — Foundations of Physical Rehabilitation

5 credits Introduces principles and techniques of foundational patient care skills in physical rehabilitation in the acute care environment. Skills include vital signs, aseptic technique, transfers, bed mobility, and assistive mobility devices. Integrates survey of human pathophysiology covering common pathologies of major body systems. Emphasis on connecting key elements of pathology and disease to working with patients as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
