AHSE59 — Reading and Writing in Occupational Education
3-5 credits This course provides students the opportunity to research a career field within the context of their needs and interests. Students will determine their projected living wage, complete career interest surveys, research a career specific field, including training requirements, the projected hiring, salary, and advancement data. Based on this research, students will conduct a cost-benefit analysis of two schools that provide the necessary education and training, in order to make an informed choice. Students will create a career action plan, and explore two funding opportunities, such as public and private scholarships. Course
