NUR 4257 — Critical Care Nursing

This theoretical course focuses on synthesizing nursing knowledge and skills in caring for adult clients and their families impacted by critical illness. Topics include: Causes of single and multi-organ system dysfunction, the human responses to life-threatening illness, and palliative end-of-life care. Nursing care focusing on restoring physiologic and psychological stability to the severely ill client will be explored. The emphasis is on both pathophysiology and clinical management.
