NURS 132 - LPN to RN Transition NURS 132 - LPN to RN Transition This is an accelerated course specifically designed to facilitate successful entry of practical nurses into transitioning smoothly into Level III of the ASN program, by expanding the breadth and depth of their knowledge and nursing skills. The didactic course focuses on theories, processes, and skills relevant to registered nursing, it covers core components of nursing practice, quality and safety, pharmacology for nursing practice, psychomotor skills, communication, delegation and health assessment of the adult and geriatric patient. With an emphasis on patient-centered care for adult and geriatric populations, this course provides comprehensive training in common health disorders of the adult and geriatric client to foster knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for competence and accountability in the delivery of healthcare. Including: Basic body system assessment, perioperative care, fluid/electrolyte and acid-based balance, pain management, sensory perception, integument and burns, respiratory, cardiovascular, and gastrointestinal disorders. Addressed are also delivery, equity and inclusion and social determinants of health. Concurrent enrollment in NURS 133 will be a requirement of this course.
