MUS 215 — Aural Skills VI
Provides a continuation of , with the same goal of improving the ability to reproduce what is seen and write down what is heard, as well as listen with discrimination. Covers the same mix of melodic and harmonic dictation, error detection, sight singing (some of it modal), rhythm study and comparative listening. Places emphasis on harmonic background of melody. As part of sight singing, consists of sitting at the piano playing chords for oneself and/or others in the class to sing. Dictation will include melody with simple background chords. Music majors should also register for concurrently with this course.
