HST 101 — History of Western Civ: Ancient World to 1000 AD

Identifies and analyzes the origins and development of Western Civilization from its beginnings through the High Middle Ages. Includes analysis of culturally and historically diverse practices, values, and beliefs among the civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece, and Rome. (History classes at LBCC can be taken in any order. Lower numbers do not necessarily represent a starting point. No prior coursework in History is required to take this or any other course. All courses have similar expectations regardless of the course number.) Recommended: College-level reading and writing skills are strongly recommended for success in this course.
