AUT 315 — Vehicle Systems Diagnostics: Scanner and Scope

Covers the use of computerized automotive diagnostic equipment, including scan tools and laboratory oscilloscopes, in the vehicle diagnostic process. Students learn to interface with vehicle control modules, retrieve and interpret diagnostic data, analyze scan tool data streams and diagnostic trouble codes, and capture and interpret lab scope waveforms for sensors and actuators. Emphasis is placed on the use of electronic service information, wiring diagrams, and system schematics to support accurate diagnosis, testing, and verification of electronic vehicle systems.
