AUT 300 — Automatic Transmissions & Transaxles

Covers the diagnosis and service of automatic transmission and transaxle systems used in modern vehicles. Students learn to identify system components, diagnose operational concerns, inspect and test hydraulic, mechanical, and electronic systems, perform in-vehicle maintenance and component-level repairs, and verify proper system operation according to manufacturer specifications. Emphasis is placed on hydraulic and electronic controls, scan tool analysis, and oscilloscope waveform interpretation using industry-standard diagnostic equipment and manufacturer service information. The course builds upon foundational knowledge of electrical systems and drivetrain fundamentals developed in earlier automotive coursework.
