AUT 298 — Advanced Engine Performance
Covers the diagnosis and service of advanced engine performance, drivability, and emission control systems used in modern vehicles. Students learn to identify system components, diagnose operational concerns, inspect and test electrical and electronic systems, perform required service or replacement, and verify proper system operation. Emphasis is placed on computerized engine control systems, emission control strategies, advanced electrical testing, scan tool analysis, and waveform interpretation using industry-standard diagnostic equipment and manufacturer service information. The course builds upon foundational electrical and engine performance knowledge developed in earlier automotive coursework.
