AUT 296 — Advanced Steering, Suspension, Brakes and Advanced Drivers Assist Systems (ADAS)

Covers the diagnosis and service of advanced steering, suspension, braking, and driver assistance systems used in modern vehicles. Students learn to identify system components, diagnose operational concerns, inspect and measure mechanical and electronic components, perform required service or replacement, and verify proper system operation. Emphasis is placed on wheel alignment and suspension geometry, hydraulic and electronic power assist systems, vehicle stability and traction control systems, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Instruction integrates the use of manufacturer service information, industry-standard diagnostic tools, precision measurement, calibration procedures, and safe work practices. The course builds upon foundational steering, suspension, and braking knowledge developed in earlier automotive coursework.
