BUS 121 — Introduction to Business
This course provides students with an overview of business fundamentals and careers starting with a look at the business environment from both an economic and global perspective. Students are introduced to business ethics and social responsibility, as well as forms of business ownership and entrepreneurship. Students explore management and organization principles, human resources, marketing, finance, and investment topics. Social media, e-business, and accounting topics are highlighted. Throughout the semester, students complete sections of their business plan for a real or fictitious company that correspond to chapters recently studied and receive graded feedback prior to submitting their final business plan at the end of the semester. R, 11 (2 lecture hours and 2 lab hours)
