PTH 225 - Rehabilitation Procedures (Fall Only) PTH 225 - Rehabilitation Procedures (Fall Only) 5 cr. Focuses on treatment techniques typical of long term rehabilitation, e.g., the rehabilitation of congenital, neurological and disfigurement associated with chronic injury and disease. This course will prepare the student for clinical application of therapeutic exercise for the patient with long term rehabilitation needs, with specific focus on neurological pathologies and the recovery process. Lifespan development and concerns related to pediatric and geriatric patient populations are covered, including cognition and motivational principles for each. Laboratory practice will provide hands-on experience with a wide variety of interventions including specialized treatment such as neuromuscular facilitation techniques and balance interventions.
