MATH 141 - Calculus with Applications MATH 141 - Calculus with Applications 4 Credit Hour(s) / 4 Billing Hour(s) General Education Category: MTA Mathematics This course provides an introduction to calculus with an emphasis on applications in business, economic, social/life sciences and other fields not requiring an extensive study of calculus. Topics include functions, derivatives, related rates, growth and decay, differential equations, elasticity of demand, the definite integral and applications. (Mathematics, Physical Science, Computer Science, and Engineering majors should take MATH 151 .) Semesters all 5 in MATH 120 within 2 years or a Math Placement Score indicated below Placement Scores: Reading Level 5 and Writing Level 6 and (ACM3/AAF 260-300 or A02/ACT Math 26-28 or S12/SAT Math 620-680 or PS12/PSAT Math 620-680) within 2 years. Course Note: A graphing calculator from the TI-83/84 Series is required for course work. This course includes on-site proctored exam(s) for all online sections. Students will need to travel to an LCC campus or request an approved non-LCC testing site (additional fees may apply) to take the exam(s).
