Students will explore the basic principles and practices of teaching young children. Topics include professionalism, creating effective learning environments, influences on children’s learning, observation and assessment, and how children learn through play. Semesters all, Spring, Summer Prerequisite(s): None Placement Scores: Reading Level 5 or (Reading Level 4 and ENGL 099 concurrently) and Writing Level 4 Recommended: Child Development and Early Education Major Course Note: To complete an Associate Degree or Certificate in Child Development and Early Education in the shortest possible time, students must enroll in CHDV 100 and CHDV 111 in their first semester
