The Journalism Department offers practical newspaper experience and academic preparation for students preparing to transfer to four-year institutions. Emphasis is placed on new technologies and preparation for media jobs in a computer-oriented society. Additional areas of study include journalism history, ethics, law, and the role of the press in our society. Career Opportunities Students who complete the Journalism program are prepared for careers in the expanding communications field, which includes print, online and video journalism, along with computer production skills.
