NUR 2016 - Adv. Concepts of Medical Surgical Nursing II NUR 2016 - Adv. Concepts of Medical Surgical Nursing II (2.3-2.7) Formerly NUR 216 A continuation of NUR 2006, focuses on complex medical/surgical conditions of the high acuity patient. Builds on medical/surgical nursing theory, mental health concepts, communication, collaboration, caring, and critical thinking/clinical reasoning necessary for safe, patient-centered nursing care to developmentally and culturally diverse adult patients experiencing high acuity medical/surgical conditions. Incorporates evidence-based practice, quality improvement, professional standards, and legal and ethical responsibilities of the professional nurse as applied in the acute care and high acuity settings. Application of knowledge and skills occurs in a variety of clinical settings. 5 Credits (2.3 credits theory = 34.5 and 2.7credits clinical = 121.5 ). Must pass with a C or higher.
