Study of the basis of heredity with emphasis on structure and function of DNA and Mendelian Genetics, including molecular genetics, solving problems in Mendelian inheritance, understanding population genetics and evolution, and developing an appreciation for the relationship of genetics to other disciplines . Prerequisite: Grade of “C” or better in at least one of the following courses: BIOL 111, BIOL 150, BIOL 202, BIOL 221 . (3 cr)
