3 credits · 3 hours

Sonographic physics I is an introduction to the fundamental principles of acoustical physics; how sound is produced, manipulated and the interaction of sound in media. The focus in this course is describing sound waves, pulsed sound waves, sound wave intensities, range equation, transducer construction, axial/lateral resolution and display modes in sonography. Discussion and mathematical problem solving will be stressed in this course. Prerequisites: DMSO 104 for DMSO students, ECHO 100 for Cardiac Sonography students

Prerequisites: DMSO 104, ECHO 100
