PPSP16 — Culinary Arts Workshops

0 credits · 0 hours

Students will explore a wide range of cooking techniques. Whether the goal is learning to cook at home for themselves or their family or to break into the culinary world, we will help them begin! Subjects include preparing well-balanced nutritional meals, essential techniques and cooking methods, food service and sanitation, proper food handling, kitchen/knife safety, nutrition facts, healthy choices and causes and effects of unhealthy eating. Lunch is provided; students will eat what they cook each day. The workshop is taught by a professional chef and a special education instructor. There will be one hour of classroom activities following cooking. June and July workshops explore different skills and menus. Limited spots available.
