CEXP104 — Travel Project Part 1
In this hands-on, project-based camp, students will plan an exciting road trip from start to finish. Campers will research a destination and create a travel brochure highlighting the must-see attractions and unique features of their chosen location—then try to convince others why their destination is worth visiting. Students will go old school by using a road atlas to map their route, plan possible stops along the way (including fun and quirky roadside attractions), and calculate total mileage. They will then verify their work using Google Maps. Campers will estimate travel time, calculate gas usage, and determine the total cost of fuel for their trip. On the final day, students will share their completed travel plans with the group. This camp builds research, math, planning, and presentation skills while encouraging creativity and exploration. This camp is designed as Part 1 of a two-part Travel Project experience. Students who enjoy this camp may continue their journey in Part 2: Travel Project: Budget for Our Road Trip, which focuses on financial planning and budgeting.
