RN 206 — PROFESSIONAL CONCEPTS IN NURSING
This course introduces the student to the professional career as an RN and is designed to expand the knowledge and skills of the LPN as they transition to the role of the RN. This course provides an overview of the role of an RN, including professional nurse responsibilities such as delegation, health promotion, informatics, and utilizing evidence-based teamwork to improve communication among healthcare professionals. Course content includes roles and competencies of medical- surgical nursing, incorporating evidence-based practices into medic al-surgical nursing, collaboration, cultural and ethical concepts, palliative and end-of life issues, and geriatric implications for medical-surgical nursing. 1 credit
