MLT 221 — IMMUNOHEMATOLOGY
Immunohematology incorporates the areas of hematology (study of blood) and immunology (study of antigens and antibodies). This course consists of tests utilizing blood and serum to determine patient blood type, antiglobulin testing such as antibody screen and identification, auto control, crossmatch and problem solving, all of which are required to find units of blood that are as compatible as possible for the patient in need of a transfusion. 4 credits
