GAD 106 — GAME PROTOTYPING AND MECHANICS
3.00 Units (Lec 2 Hrs / Lab 2 Hrs) Transfer Credit: CSU, UC Prerequisite: GAD203 Students will explore the various aspects of game mechanics; what they are, how they can be formed, how they interact with each other, and how mechanics relate to the application of the overall game design. Students will prototype, test, and implement mechan- ics that meet the limitations of a “target platform.” A game design document is created that illustrates all aspects of game production including game description, game mechanics, and iden - tifying problem areas. The game design documents will address business aspects of the industry that impact our designs, including demographics, economic models, budgets, and marketing.
