CIS 112 — OPERATING SYSTEMS - BEGINNING LINUX
3.00 Units (Lec 2 Hrs / Lab 3 Hrs) Transfer Credit: CSU, C-ID (ITIS 155) This course introduces the Linux Operating System for the stan - dard PC. Topics include installation and configuration of the Linux operating system, GNU and Unix commands, file systems, scripting, GUI's, system services, network fundamentals and essential trou - bleshooting techniques for operating systems and networks. Stu - dents will develop Linux administrative skills by creating and edit - ing user groups, auditing system files, determining port status on a system, developing password protocols, and determining limits on user logins, processes and memory usage.
