REGNRSG 106 - NURSING CARE OF THE CHILDBEARING FAMILY - THEORY 2.00 Units (Lec 2 Hrs) Transfer Credit: CSU Corequisite: REGNRSG106L Prerequisite: REGNRSG105 Students learn to assess and care for women through the lifespan and newborns, with emphasis on reproductive health and the child- bearing years, healthy neonates, and women's health. Utilizing the Roy Adaptation model, the nursing process, and QSEN competen - cies, family-centered care is emphasized, including identification of the bio-psycho-social needs, as well as cultural diversity of patients and families. This theory course must be taken concurrently with the corresponding clinical course. When taking a concurrent theory and clinical course, if both courses are not passed when courses are first taken, this will count as one fail. A second failed course will result in dismissal from the program. If a student needs to retake a failed theory course, the corequisite clinical course must be repeated concurrently to comply with CCR 1426 (d). REGNRSG 106L - NURSING CARE OF THE CHILDBEARING FAMILY - CLINICAL 2.00 Units (Lab 6 Hrs) Transfer Credit: CSU Corequisite: REGNRSG106 Prerequisite: REGNRSG105 Students will apply concepts from REGNRSG 106 that include the disease process, medical treatments, nursing responsibilities, and interventions, cultural, ethical, and legal issues to the childbearing family.
