WT 122 - Shielded Metal Arc Welding I WT 122 - Shielded Metal Arc Welding I Lab: 2 hours of lab per week. This course will emphasize the theory and practice of Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW). Safe handling and correct set up of equipment will be covered. Fillet Welds with a E6010 root pass and E7018 multi-pass fill and cover will be welded on 1/4” mild steel in the flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
