NUR 117 - Fundamentals of Nursing (6-7*) NUR 117 - Fundamentals of Nursing (6-7*) 5 hours of lecture/discussion per week. Lab: 3.5 hours of lab per week. Designed to develop nursing and communication skills to enable the student to administer care to adult clients within the scope of the beginning nurse. Introduces fundamental concepts of nursing, including the nursing process and the promotion of wellness and health maintenance through patient education. Concurrent clinical and laboratory experience designed to give the student the opportunity to utilize the nursing process and develop fundamental level expertise in nursing skills. 4 hours of clinical per week.
