MAT 201 - Mathematics for Elementary Teachers I MAT 201 - Mathematics for Elementary Teachers I (One year of high school geometry with a passing grade will satisfy the MAT 075 ) fall Lecture: 3 hours of lecture/discussion per week. A course designed for the prospective elementary teacher. Emphasis on problem solving, structure, meanings, relationships, and types of thinking in mathematics. Topics include development of the whole number, integer, rational, and real number systems, sets, logic, functions, and the use of manipulatives.
