MTH20600 — Introduction to Statistics

This is an introductory course in statistics for any field in which the collection, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of numerical data are important. Topics include organization of data, types of distributions (binomial, normal, student t, chi-square), sampling, testing of hypotheses, confidence intervals, correlation, and regression. Additionally, the students will choose a project that will allow them to gain experience and demonstrate understanding of some of the statistical techniques or methods. A calculator is required. Computer software will be utilized. (Math Credit)
