MUS 207 — African American Music History
Explores the history of African American music from Pre-colonial West African diasporas through American colonial times to the present. Studies significant composers, performers, events, styles, and elements of music, as well as important historical and sociological trends, associated with the African American experience and culture. Lecture: 3 credits (45 contact hours).
