DMS 111 - Sonography Physics I DMS 111 - Sonography Physics I Lecture: 3 Lab: 0 This course introduces students to the essential aspects of sonography physics and technology. It also provides them with an understanding of how diagnostic sonography works, including Doppler, safety, and quality assurance. This course examines physical principles of sonography and focuses on the explanation of various sonography-related terms and concepts such as piezoelectricity, echoes, wavelength, frequency, refraction, acoustic impedance, propagation, sound beam generation, reflection, attenuation, bandwidth, and resolution.
