CDEV 246 - Methods of Math in ECE CDEV 246 - Methods of Math in ECE Lecture: 3 Lab: 0 This course is an exploration of early math content, research and pedagogy for individuals planning to teach children from birth to second grade. Students will learn what mathematics looks like during the early years through observation and assessment. This course will introduce developmentally appropriate strategies to recognize and promote a child’s emerging mathematical understanding through hand’s on discovery and play. Students will review basic mathematical concepts and terminology including the following concepts: numbers, measurement, shapes, patterns, spatial relations and analysis of data. Field observations within early childhood settings are required in this course. Is course repeatable for credit?
