ENG255 — American Lit 19 Century
Students examine the development of a distinctive American literature and culture during the 19th century. Students read selections from many writers, with emphasis on major figures such as Hawthorne, Melville, Thoreau, Emerson, Poe, Dickenson, Whitman, Douglass, and Jacobs.
