OTAS 211 - Current Issues and Emerging Trends in Occupational Therapy OTAS 211 - Current Issues and Emerging Trends in Occupational Therapy Reviews advocacy issues and discusses current and emerging trends in OT with reflection on practice aspects across different settings still relevant and effective despite changes in society, culture, and health care contexts. Emphasis placed on understanding occupation and occupational performance in contexts and environments at the personal, physical, social, cultural, temporal, spatial, and virtual levels. Students will analyze OT’s journey from the past into the future and research factors influencing the practice of occupational therapy throughout the world. Covers workforce and system challenges and their response. Students will research technological and professional advances within traditional and emerging practice areas, along with a review of current supervision requirements, and will complete and present a project. Course also includes a comprehensive review of the program to-date and practice testing (part 1 of 2) to prepare students for Fieldwork Level 2 and their certification exam. MAJOR COURSE LEARNING
