CRIM 227 - Seminar on Domestic Violence CRIM 227 - Seminar on Domestic Violence As a seminar-styled course of instruction, the approach will be a discussion-based exploration of intimate partner violence intending a development of a systemic perspective on domestic violence. Included in the course will be a review of theories and research on domestic violence; the types of domestic abuse (e.g., intimate partner violence, elder abuse, and child abuse); the legal system’s response; assessment and intervention techniques; community support services for victims; batterer intervention programs; and the effects of domestic violence on children.
