PCB 4024 — Molecular Biology

In this course, students examine the molecular mechanisms that regulate gene expression in bacteria and eukaryotes. Topics include bacterial transcription and translation mechanisms and operon-based regulation; eukaryotic RNA polymerases, promoters, and transcription factors; chromatin structure and transcriptional control; RNA processing; and eukaryotic translation.

Prerequisites: MCB 3023, MCB 3023L, PCB 3063, PCB 3063L
