3.0 Credit(s) Lecture 2 Lab 2 Strength of Materials introduces the analysis and design of basic structural members (bar, beams, shafts, connectors, and columns) under various loads to determine stress, strain, load limits, required size, and deflection. The course covers selection of appropriate materials for a particular design. Students use standard analytic and computer-based techniques of solving problems related to force and moments.
