Add to Pathway Course Department: Health Sciences 6 Credits Total Clinical Hours: 360 Course Description: This course is one semester which enables the student to become oriented to various health facilities and imaging departments. This course is designed for students who are pursuing a diagnostic medical sonography degree. Students will begin with observation of procedures under direct supervision and progress to assisting with and performing procedures. Students develop beginning skills in sonography along with intellectual and beginning motor skills in the profession. This course is an introductive course to sonography scanning, procedures, and protocols and will students gain the basic knowledge of sonography and will provide entrylevel skills related specifically to diagnostic medical sonographer job duties while enhancing their overall knowledge when making important life decisions.
