Universal themes and the nature of the mythic hero are considered as well as the role and value of myth to our lives. Works considered may include essays, short stories, films, plays, poems, and novels. One of these two: EAP 0099, ENG 0099 (Minimum grade: 1.67 GPA Equivalent) And 2. Any one of these three: READ 0093, READ 0094, READ 0099 OR ENG 1108 Major Content Areas Definitions and patterning in myths. Mythic heroes. Creation Myths. Myths of particular culture (for example, Native American myths). Cultural, social, religious, political, economic, and linguistic influences on literary expression. Personal myths. Learning
